Unlock 1 as the Gujarat government will extend the relaxations that had been given to Ahmedabad in the fourth phase of lockdown as part of the state government and Amdavad Municipal Corporation’s efforts to contain coronavirus pandemic.
There will be more hours of relaxation while curfew will be in effect from 9 pm to 5 am the next day. City bus services will resume, but with 50% occupancy. In each row of two seats, a sticker will be pasted on one of them to instruct people not to sit there. Also, buses plying in eastern parts will not be allowed to come to western parts and vice versa.
Following Chief Minster Vijay Rupani’s announcement regarding guidelines for the fifth phase of the lockdown, AMC on Sunday issued a press release specifying the details of its implementation in Ahmedabad. Bridges connecting the eastern and western parts of Ahmedabad, which had remained closed so far, will be reopened for general public. These include Gandhi Bridge, Nehru Bridge and Ellisbridge.
Businesses within AMC limits will be allowed to operate between 8 am and 7 pm. Industries requiring continuous processing will be allowed to remain open till 8 pm. Government and private offices will be allowed to remain open with 100% attendance. Employees, owners or staff of any organisation or shop will not be allowed to come out of containment zone.
